Lars H. Runquist, MD
Dr. Lars Runquist completed his undergraduate work at Vanderbilt University before completing medical school at the University of Tennessee in 1995. He then moved to Charleston where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine as well as fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Runquist is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is also an active member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of Medical Society of South Carolina as well.
Dr. Runquist's medical interests involve invasive cardiology. He actively lectures on chest pain, heart attacks, drug eluding stents and pacemakers. Dr. Runquist also believes in aggressive cardiac screening and lipid evaluation. This includes calcium scoring and Berkeley Heart lab evaluations of different cholesterol particles. He loves the fast pace of cardiology and the importance of staying up to date with modern technology and medicine. Additonally, he is also the director of cardiac rehabilitation at Roper St Francis.
Dr. Runquist enjoys hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. His wife is a popular oil painter in Charleston.
